Download and install BackupBuddy (install like any other WordPress plugin). You'll also need to activate BackupBuddy (visit your plugins dashboard and follow the instructions).

You can simoly use rsync if u are on a VPS. For regular backup, you can also use cpanel backup feature itself.

If softaculous is installed, try using auto backups option.

When we talk about backup, there are two thing we should keep in mind. A complete Website backup consists of two types of backups i.e one is WordPress files and other is WordPress database.

As mentioned in other answers, you can create a backup using a WordPress plugin, but I don’t think a free plugin will do that for you. Even if some does, they don’t do complete website backup.

But don’ worry! You can go manual backup of WordPress. All the web developers around the world uses manual backup to create backup of their client’s website or even their own website. It is simple to manually backup your WordPress site if you know the steps.

    First, Backup your WordPress database:

    Follow the steps:

    • Go to your hosting cPanel and find backup or database backup.
    • Find MySQL Database Backup. Here, you will find your database.
    • Click on your database name and download it.
    • The database file will be downloaded to your computer in zip(.gz extension) format.

    Second, Backup your WordPress files

You can download all your WordPress files present inside hosted server using cPanel or FTP (file transfer protocol).

    • Go to your cPanel and look for File Manager.
    • Go into public_html - this is the root folder of your website. All your website files can be found inside this folder.
    • Here, you can download any file you want to your computer. Suppose if you have made changes to your WordPress theme and you want a backup of it. Then inside the public_html, go to wp-admin/themes/. You will see your theme folder. Download it.
You can also use an FTP client software like FileZilla to backup your WordPress files. It is recommended way to download your WordPress files.

    Regards,
    Adrian
