In the past, I used to use Pingdom and UptimeRobot. Now I mainly use HetrixTools.

PS HetrixTools offer a free version if you're interested.

Which paid & free website monitoring tools do you use?

I mainly use uptimerobot and host-tracker. Both of them are good.

Hyperspin monitors server uptime in real time. They have a list of hosting providers that they monitor.

I almost always use Opensource tools for monitoring tools for almost any reason. Monitoring only got better for me with Nagios and Zabbix. Although heard a lot good about it, never got to test it as such. Hence for OpenSource my choice would always be Nagios for its simplicity and ease in automation.
